A Professor of International Communication and Public Opinion at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, Egypt. Hamada is the author of a new paradigm for scientific research and knowledge production.
In 2024, Dr. Hamada received the Harvard University Fellowship from the Graduate School of Education. His co-authored article titled “Conceptualizing Journalists’ Safety around the Globe,” published in Digital Journalism won Wolfgang Donsbach Outstanding Journal Article of the Year Award offered by International Communication Association in 2024. Currently, he serves as the main guest Editor of a special issue alongside Professors Thomas Hanitzsch and Winston Mano on “Journalism and Digital Authoritarianism” to be published by Digital Journalism. Administratively, he has served as Chair of two Departments of Mass Communication, Dean of two Colleges of Mass Communication, and Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University. He is also an elected member of IAMCR International Council.
