Dr. Cees J. Hamelink is an emeritus professor of communication science at the University of Amsterdam and a professor of human rights and global health at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. He is the honorary president of the International Association for Media and Communication Research and editor-in-chief of the International Communication Gazette. His most recent book is Communication and Human Rights towards Communicative Justice (Polity Press, 2023).
