She has a PhD in Communication Sciences (2012). She is a professor of Communication Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and a researcher at the Research Centre for Applied Communication, Culture and New Technologies (CICANT). Her research interests focus on organizational and interpersonal communication, social analysis of the media and mass media, and gender studies.
